1. Return Policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase. Here's how our return policy works:

  • In-Stock Materials: You can return unopened, uninstalled, and unaltered in-stock materials in their original packaging within 15 business days of pick-up. A 10% restocking fee will apply.
  • Store Credit Option: If you prefer, you can opt for a store credit instead of a refund for eligible returns within 15 business days, and we'll waive the restocking fee.
  • Special Orders & Final Sale Items: Items that are special ordered (not regularly stocked) or marked as "Closeout / Final Sale" cannot be returned. These sales are final. Please confirm with us before purchasing if you have any questions about an item's return eligibility.

2. Refunds

Refunds for eligible returns will be processed using your original method of payment. Please note that cash payments over $500 will be refunded via check, mailed directly to the purchaser.

3. Order Pick-Up & Storage

  • Timely Pick-Up: All orders must be picked up in full within 14 business days of purchase or material arrival.
  • Storage Fees: Materials left in the El Jefe Building Supply warehouse or yard for more than 14 business days will incur a $25 per day storage fee. This fee must be paid in full before you can pick up your materials.
  • Forfeiture of Materials: After 30 days, any uncollected materials will be returned to stock for resale, and no credit will be issued to the customer.

4. Material Verification

It's your responsibility to verify the accuracy of your order against what was quoted, purchased, and received.

  • Upon Pick-Up: Claims for damage or shortages must be made at the time of pick-up. Please thoroughly inspect all products before leaving our premises. Any discrepancies must be reported to a manager immediately.
  • Signature Confirmation: By signing for your materials at pick-up, you confirm that your order has been received in full and is accurate. No exceptions will be made once you've left our premises.

5. Measurements and Installation

  • Your Responsibility: El Jefe Building Supply is not responsible for measurement or installation errors. We do not install materials.
  • Installer Recommendations: If we recommend an installer, please understand these individuals are independent and do not work for or represent El Jefe Building Supply. It's your responsibility to vet and choose your installer. We do not guarantee any work performed by third-party installers.

6. Unfinished Wood Product Grading

Please be aware that unfinished wood products are natural materials and will show variations in color, texture, and appearance.

  • Grading Standards: Their appearance is determined by the specific material's governing grading body. Products sold at grades below standard (e.g., #3 Grade / Utility Grade / Shop Grade) are sold as-is.
  • Natural Variation: While we strive for high-quality materials, we cannot guarantee uniformity across all pieces of natural wood products.

7. Vehicle Loading & Transportation

  • Your Responsibility: You (and your contractors/sub-contractors) are solely responsible for providing a safe and adequate vehicle for transportation and assume full responsibility for picking up and transporting merchandise.
  • Loading Assistance (Courtesy): As a courtesy, El Jefe Building Supply staff may assist with loading. However, it is your responsibility to stop our employee if you believe the load is too heavy or unsafe for your vehicle. We reserve the right to refuse or cease loading service at any time.
  • Securing Your Load: You are solely responsible for securing your merchandise and ensuring it is properly loaded and/or secured before leaving our premises.
  • Damage to Vehicles: El Jefe Building Supply is not liable for damage to your vehicle during loading or transport of materials.
  • Safety Zone: If equipment or machinery is in use, please stay at least ten feet away from its operation and exercise diligence to protect yourself from harm.
  • Liability Release: YOU ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE LOADING AND/OR TRANSPORT OF MERCHANDISE AND RELEASE EL JEFE BUILDING SUPPLY FROM ANY LIABILITY, DAMAGES, OR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF YOUR PICK-UP AND/OR TRANSPORTATION OF MERCHANDISE.

8. Delivery Service

If El Jefe Building Supply delivers your materials, here's what to expect:

  • Scheduling: We'll contact you within 24 hours of your order to schedule delivery.
  • Offload Time: The quoted delivery rate includes a maximum of 30 minutes for offloading. If offloading takes longer than 30 minutes, you will be charged an overtime fee of $1.75 per minute until offload is complete. This fee is non-refundable and cannot be credited.
  • Missed Delivery Charge: A $99 charge will apply if:
    • You are unable to receive the delivery.
    • You cancel delivery after it's been scheduled.
    • The job site is inaccessible by our delivery vehicle.
      This fee is non-refundable and cannot be credited.
  • Refused Delivery Charge: A $99 charge will apply if you refuse delivery of some or all materials and they must be returned to our pick-up location. This fee is non-refundable and cannot be credited.
  • Inspection Upon Delivery: You are responsible for inspecting materials before our truck leaves the delivery location.
  • Ownership & Claims: Once materials are unloaded and our truck has left, you own the material. Claims for damage or shortage must be made upon receipt of the product and noted on the delivery ticket, and your sales representative must be contacted via email within 24 hours.
